Los Angeles, Calif.-based
CBRE Investors has purchased a joint venture interest in the RiverGate Shopping Center in Charlotte, N.C., from
Childress Klein Properties.
Mike Burkard and
Steve Shields of
CB Richard Ellis' Charlotte Retail Investment Properties Team brokered the sale on behalf of Childress Klein, which will continue to lease and manage the property.
RiverGate is a 13-building retail center that contains 236,497 square feet and is located at 12807 South Tryon St. It was developed by Childress Klein in 2006 and is anchored by tenants including Best Buy, PetSmart, Old Navy, OfficeMax, Books-a-Million and Marshall's.
Burkard is a senior VP with CBRE and joined the company in its Washington, D.C., office in 1987 and then moved on to join the Investment Properties division in Charlotte in 2000. He has been a top five producer in the Carolinas since 2003.
Shields, a sales associate, has been with CBRE since 2004 when he joined the company as a financial analyst. He has had a variety of operational and financial roles in Denver, Colorado and Charlotte. He was CBRE's 2004 "Rookie of the Year."
Burkard and Shield recently represented
Johnson Development Associates in the sale of an
11-property retail portfolio in South Carolina.
