Massey Knakal gets $500K over asking price for Manhattan apt. building

Massey Knakal Realty Services arranged the sale of a mixed-use apartment building in Manhattan's Greenwich Village neighborhood at 204-208 W. 14th St for $20.5 million.

Massey Knakal Partner and Managing Director James Nelson represented the seller Harry Gene, who was asking $20 million for the property.

The building, purchased by Westchester-based Wasserman Management, sits on the south side of 14th St. between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. It contains about 34,000 square feet and consists of 52 rent stabilized apartments, 14 one-bedrooms and 38 studios. The ground level is used for retail.

Nelson was named the firm's youngest partner in 2004. He also teaches in New York University's continuing education program as an adjunct professor.
